It rejuvenates, surprises and heals.

I recycle and repurpose, just like our living cells recycle the star dust that has been around since the Big Bang.

 

As new worlds emerge, you perceive the familiar with the eyes of a newborn.

Your life is a tapestry of perspectives, stories and experiences. Who you think you are is a mix of your influences, memories and ideas, held together by awareness.

 

There's an underlying unity in that multiplicity. Yet it is only to be revealed by disassembling the apparent order of things and revealing the subtle essences within.

 

This happens during a state of sleep, ritual or meditation, and it happens during the state of making art.

 

Collage allows you to pierce through the veil of structures and strictures. You cut it up, throw it all into the dark pool of imagination, and wait for the mosaic to form by its own volition.

 

I have been collaging since my teens and I enjoy the process immensely. Many of my oil paintings come out of assemblages, using both analog and digital elements, including pieces of my previous art. They've also appeared as book covers.
