The How
The process of commissioning your “My Beautiful Life” painting is simple and follows these steps:

Connect with me to determine the right size and intention behind your project. We are ready for the next step after a down payment of half the price of the finished painting.

You will select several images of the people/elements you'd like featured and we get on a call to discuss the palette and other aspects of the piece.

I will create a digital collage and email it to you. You will have the opportunity to review it.

Once the source collage is approved, I will procure the materials and start work on the painting. The delivery speed depends on the complexity and size of the piece, but will generally not exceed two weeks. I will update you with process pictures. Any chance of delay on my part will be explicitly communicated to you beforehand. I guarantee that the piece will be ready no later than 3 weeks from the commencement of painting.

After receiving the second half of the payment, and the shipping costs, the piece will be shipped and delivered to you. Payment plans are an option. Happy to discuss your individual needs during the initial call.
A “My Beautiful Life” painting is rendered on fine art quality silk. I use the best silk paints on the market, which allow for the silky soft touch of the silk to be retained after steam fixing. The material is first washed, and stretched. I use a palette of techniques depending on the piece, including freehand, outline, wet, salt and resist painting.After painting, I roll up the piece in paper and vapor steam it for three hours on my kitchen stove to make sure the paint is fixed.
Then I wash again and iron (you'd be surprised but Ironing takes forever!)
And voila, your art is done and ready to frame!

Dupont silk paint on fine art silk, Pongè 06 (fine) weave. The painting is based on a collage pre-approved by you and based on elements that you provide.
- How many times can I revise the collage which the painting is based on?
One collage revision is included in this offer. Each extra revision costs 50 euros paid up front.
-Will I like it in person?
You are the co-creator of this piece. Your approval of the digital collage means you are happy with the composition, elements and general colour scheme of the piece. I will update you with process pictures while painting. Silk is a difficult medium that involves using paint which keeps shifting on the fabric after application. Unexpected gradients and mixing of colours are part of the mojo of this technique. If you like my style, you will be happy with the painting, guaranteed. My art looks even better irl than on photos.
- How about exchanges and returns?
I'm a solo mom running an independent art business, so my time and resources are limited. Please respect that I am unable to make exchanges and returns on art. I guarantee you will be happy with the painting you've commissioned.
